Substitute public holidays — appeal favours Woolworths

By 2:1, the Federal Court has upheld an appeal by Woolworths, ruling that where an arrangement provided for a public holiday on a Saturday or a Sunday to be observed in lieu on the following Monday or Tuesday, there was no statutory authority to grant Monday-to-Friday workers an additional public holiday and related pay.
