CUL8R*: giving notice by text message

Modern technology has complicated the once relatively simple process of giving notice of termination of employment — either by the employer (dismissal) or the employee (resignation). The issue confronting industrial courts and tribunals is whether modern communication tools, such as email and telephone texting, are considered to be proper means of communicating notice of termination when given by the employer to an employee.
