The four yearly review of modern awards continues with a range of proceedings still to be finalised.

Current matters before the Fair Work Commission cover:

  1. Part-time/casual common issues proceedings (submissions were due 11 November 2014);
  2. 'Additional' common issues sought by the ACTU (Domestic Violence leave and Family Friendly provisions) and the Association of Payroll specialists (submissions were due 11 November 2014);
  3. Award Flexibility and Public Holidays Common Issues (initial conference 17 November 2014);
  4. Group 3 and 4 Award Stages – ie more obscure awards  (initial conference 18 November 2014);
  5. Alleged (by the Fair Work Ombudsman) inconsistencies with the National Employment Standards (next submissions due 21 November 2014 – see Directions of the FWC in its 31 December 2014 Statement);
  6. Transitional Provisions Claims (further hearing on 21 November 2014);
  7. Annual Leave common issues (further hearing on 1 December 2014).
