Exposure drafts of the first group of awards under the four yearly review of modern awards have been published on the Fair Work Commission’s website.

The first group of awards under review have been divided into five sub-groups (1A–1E), with the exposure drafts for group 1A now available. These awards are:
  • Security Services Industry Award 2010 – AM2014/89
  • Cleaning Services Award 2010 – AM2014/69
  • Cotton Ginning Award 2010 – AM2014/71
  • Ambulance and Patient Transport Industry Award 2010 – AM2014/65
The exposure drafts do not incorporate any substantive change, but rather reflect technical and drafting changes proposed by the Commission and identify provisions that may need further review.

The Commission notes there are a number of “substantial matters” to be contested in the Security Services Industry Award 2010, and these will go before a full bench.

Group 1B drafts coming shortly

The Commission expects exposure drafts for awards being reviewed in Group 1B to be progressively published shortly. Awards in this group are:
  • Aluminium Industry Award 2010
  • Asphalt Industry Award 2010
  • Cement and Lime Award 2010 and Quarrying Award 2010 (amalgamated into one exposure draft)
  • Concrete Products Award 2010
  • Premixed Concrete Award 2010
  • Quarrying Award 2010
  • Salt Industry Award 2010

Written submissions on both the technical aspects of the exposure drafts and any proposed substantive variations for awards in both subgroups 1A and 1B must be received by 26 September 2014.
