New legislation commences in NSW on 1 March 2001 prohibiting discrimination in employment on the ground of carers' responsibilities.

A half-day seminar will be held on that day (1 March) to explain the implications and application of the legislation. Flexible work practices may possibly be enforceable against employers under this legislation if such work practices are needed to allow employees to meet their obligations as carers.

Facilitated by Julie McCrossin of 'Good News Week' and including Mr Chris Puplick, President of the Anti-Discrimination Board (NSW) and other prominent speakers, with Professor Ron McCallum (Blake Dawson Waldron Professor of Industrial Law, University of Sydney) as luncheon speaker, this workshop will bring you up to speed with an important change to the law.

The venue is the Grace Hotel in York Street, Sydney and the time is 1 March from 8.30am to 2pm— lunch will be served—cost is $143 to members of Australian Business Limited and $165 for non-members.
