The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC) has recently released a publication for businesses entitled Disability Discrimination Act Action Plans: A Guide for Business.

The Disability Discrimination Act 1992is Commonwealth legislation designed to ensure that disabled people be given equal opportunity to participate in, and contribute to, the full range of economic, social, cultural and political activities.

The Actaffects businesses because it prohibits discrimination in the provision of goods and services.

The publication is written to assist businesses design action plans to eliminate discrimination against the disabled.
