Recruitment and termination are two critical areas where discrimination and harassment issues often arise. Many of the decided cases in which damages have been awarded against employers have occurred in these areas of employment.

Discriminatory recruitment practices often result in the employer not getting the best person for the job, in addition to a possible discrimination or harassment complaint arising. Discriminatory dismissal is also a legal minefield for claims under both equal opportunity and industrial laws.

To ensure that your company complies with best practice in recruitment and dismissal, the Australian Business Chamber will be holding a one day course to explain the legal requirements, as well as present practical means of achieving best practice.

The course, presented by Chamber Advocate, Liz Thorby, will be held on Tuesday 15 April 1997, from 8.30 to 5.00, at our Parramatta office at Level 3, 470 Church Street, Parramatta. The course costs $225 for members and $325 for non-members.
