The federal Department of Workplace Relations and Small Business has drafted a plain English guide to employers’ rights under the federal Workplace Relations Act 1996. The guide focuses on the law in relation to industrial sanctions, right of entry and freedom of association. It also identifies remedies in the event of industrial action and union entry.

The federal Department is interested in employers’ response to the draft booklet. Australian Business is hosting a meeting to be conducted by officers from the Department to discuss the booklet. The discussion will be held at 2pm on Friday, 6 March and should take approximately two hours.
