The Federal Government has launched three new websites for the new Fair Work workplace relations system commencing 1 July 2009 (Wednesday).

The Federal Government has launched three new websites for the new Fair Work workplace relations system commencing 1 July 2009 (Wednesday).
 
Fair Work Australia (FWA) is the new national workplace relations tribunal replacing the AIRC.
 
FWA is an independent body with power to carry out a range of functions relating to:
  • the safety net of minimum wages and employment conditions
  • enterprise bargaining
  • industrial action
  • dispute resolution
  • termination of employment 
  • other workplace matters.
 
Separate sites have also been set up for the Fair Work Ombudsman and Fair Work Online, which provides information and advice on the new IR system.

On Wednesday, 1 July, Fair Work Australia will hold a ceremonial sitting in Sydney to mark the commencement of the new organisation. The sitting will be streamed live via the FWA website.
