Former Education Minister and new Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party Julie Bishop has been appointed as shadow IR spokeswoman for the Opposition.

Former Education Minister and new Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party Julie Bishop has been appointed as shadow IR spokeswoman for the Opposition.

Bishop will be taking on Deputy PM Julia Gillard who has a ‘Super Ministry’ encompassing Education and Workplace Relations.

Former Workplace Relations Minister Joe Hockey has been given the shadow responsibility for Health.

Bishop’s former responsibility for Health has been given to Tony Smith. Malcolm Turnbull has Treasury and Andrew Robb Foreign Affairs. Senator Nick Minchin is the new shadow Minister for Defence.

The previous IR Minister Tony Abbott has been given responsibilities for families, community services and indigenous affairs.

The full shadow Ministry will soon be available at the Liberal Party of Australia website.
