The successful tenderers for the job of explaining the WorkChoices legislation to employers and employees have been announced by the Federal Government.

The Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Kevin Andrews said the WorkChoices Employer Advisor Program (EAP) will draw on the business, jurisdictional and industry knowledge of organisations which include the National Farmers Federation, Commerce Queensland, Australian Business Limited, Business SA and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia.

National network of advisers

Andrews said the EAP will establish a national network of industry-based advisers across Australia, including both rural and regional areas.

Detailed information and assistance will be provided to both employers and employees on how they can best utilise the Australian Government’s WorkChoices reforms in their workplace and industry.

‘The Australian Government is committed to providing reliable information and practical assistance which is tailored to meet the needs of industry in general, but also the specific needs of particular industry sectors’, Andrews said.

More information

EAP educational seminars and workshops will be conducted throughout Australia, commencing in late April and running until June 2006.

Information is available by calling the WorkChoices Infoline on 1300 363 264 or by visiting the WorkChoices website.
