The hearing date for the State Wage case has been set down for 26 May 1998, with 27 May set aside if required.

Under the New South Wales Industrial Relations Act 1996, the Commission is required to consider the national decision and adopt any principles or provisions from it unless satisfied there is good reason not to.

The Full Bench hearing the matter comprises the new President, Wright P, Cahill VP, Schmidt J, Harrison DP and Patterson C.

The parties have been required to confer on substantive and procedural issues with a report back set for 15 May. The President has made himself available for conciliation if the parties wish.
