The inaugural meeting of the interim Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council was conducted today in Sydney.

The Advisory Council’s role, as stated in HR Link 8 October 1997 (Issue No 149/97), is to devise and implement the new workers compensation system for NSW and to oversee the new system’s ongoing operation.

The Interim Advisory Council, as announced last week by the NSW Attorney General and Minister for Industrial Relations, Jeff Shaw QC MLC, comprises 13 persons.

The Chairperson is John Grayson, General Manager of NSW WorkCover, with six employee representatives and six employer representatives (including the Chamber’s Greg Pattison).
